We support our users though the whole deployment process for our systems. Together with you, we ensure that you know the best practices from the start, even if structured authoring, for example, is novel to you. We are always available to provide further support.
I will detail the steps for deploying out systems below.
Planning
Deployment starts with planning. The helps us ensure that we will find practices suited for your needs. Planning also lets us anticipate your future needs.
The exact details depend on which of our systems interest you. However, each of them involves a number of the following considerations:
- Users and roles: We determine how many users with different roles you need.
- Practices: We find the best practices to match your needs.
- Layout: We go through how to adapt your current layout.
- Training schedule: We schedule the required training.
- System integration: If our systems must communicate with other systems that you use, we investigate whether this can be done and how.
Implementation
Once the way forward is clear, it is time to roll our sleeves. These are our roles in the initial implementation:
- Training: First, we show you the basics of a system. Then, we discuss the steps to use it properly.
- Layout: We prepare an agreed upon layout for your content.
- Support: We help whenever you have questions or face challenges.
- Migration*: We can help migrate your old content to the new system if needed.
- Development*: We can add customer-specific specifications such as system integrations, or we may develop new features that you must have.
The labour from tasks marked with an asterisk can be charged separately from basic pricing, but we will always negotiate the details with you in advance.
Your part in the implementation phase is that you start to use the system, of course. The steps involved besides the writing of new content are as follows:
- Distinctions: Define the principles for how to organize and filter content.
- Transition: Combine prior content and add the identifiers required by the system’s features.
- Recordkeeping: Decide on the format for comnponents’ descriptions and other recordkeeping practices that help you manage the content.
- Internal guides: We recommend that you record your practices.
These systems are even simpler than this to use once you deploy them with care.
